Amongst many innovative and beautiful DIY ideas, this one photo caught my eye.

This couple used the food truck Mexicue to serve their guests during the reception. Now I know, before you tell me off and say ‘that’s tacky’… remember, food trucks are becoming luxurious these days.

I’ve heard of BBQs and pot lucks but food truck receptions are new to me, and I think they just might be a smashing success.

Would you use a food truck at your wedding?

You can always do a CD full of all your favorite songs, or a baggy of M&Ms with your initials on them. Or maybe you can give everyone a wine bottle stopper. Are you tired of receiving the same trinkets at each wedding? Here are some fresh new ideas for favors at your wedding!

Rather than handing your guests a favor they will lose in a few hours, why not take the money you would have spent on favors and donate it to an organization? You can write up a small description of the organization and have it printed to hand to your guests in place of a favor. That way your guests don’t have a trinket to lose, and you have a chance to impact someone else’s life on your special day.

I attended a wedding this past weekend in Huntington Beach. It was an early morning wedding [ceremony beginning at 11:30am] which truly cut out the whole day of anticipation for the bride and her groom. In light of it being June the bride opted for bright summer colors mixed with subtle tans.

The bridesmaids were beautiful wearing their own versions of a beige dress and heir shoes were varying degrees of strappy kodiak sandals or flats.

I loved the contrast between bright and duller colors to bring true life into the bright colors.

They carried a bright orange and yellow theme throughout their reception including tables and even the dessert!

Table assignment were printed on printer paper and glued to colorful construction paper and tied onto an old fence. So simple, yet beautiful and fun for the guests.

They had a beautiful outdoor setting to work with and simple/elegant place settings.

The wedding was beautiful, and fairly inexpensive. They used the resources they had, handcrafted some accents, and stayed consistent with a theme of orange and yellow. They truly encapsulated the beauty of summer while staying on a budget.
